KNO Marathon

The inaugural KNO Schools’ Marathon held on February 23, 2024, was a resounding success, witnessing enthusiastic participation from nearly 1,000 individuals across various age groups and categories. The marathon aimed to promote an active lifestyle and community engagement.

The closing ceremony presided over by Talib bin Saif Al Dhabari, Secretary-General of the Omani Journalists Association, celebrated the achievements of the top three winners in each category. Commendation shields were also bestowed upon participating institutions.

In the Kindergarten to first-grade category, Salem Al-Husni from Al-Musbah School claimed the top spot. Ayham Al-Saadi from Durrat Al-Ilm School secured the first position in the second to fourth-grade category. The third category, dedicated to participants with disabilities, saw Amjad Al-Wahibi emerging victorious. Fares Al-Jabri secured the first position in the fourth category, open to all participants.

Mr. Khamis Al-Ajmi, Chairman of Tamkeen Investment Group, expressed happiness over the marathon's success. The event aimed to harness students' skills and energies positively, with plans to expand participation in future editions.

Colonel (Ret.) Said Al-Breiki, CEO of Tamkeen Sports Academy, emphasized the inclusive nature of the marathon, promoting sports as a holistic lifestyle. The collaborative effort between KNO School, Tamkeen Sports Academy, and Al Khabourah Sports and Cultural Club underscored the community's keen interest in sports and well-being.

Malak Al-Dakhilawi, Principal, KNO School, expressed gratitude to participants, schools, and partners, highlighting the event's success in fostering sportsmanship and teamwork. The commitment to promoting health and physical fitness within the educational community remains a key focus, promising more opportunities for sports activities and values of cooperation.
